What the service is
Diri SMS delivers operational case-coordination messages between hand surgeons, OR coordinators, and medical-device representatives for scheduled surgical cases. Messages include new device requests, rep confirmations, tray-status updates, and physician product questions routed to the correct rep and answered by an AI assistant trained on manufacturer technique guides, instructions for use (IFUs), and public FDA 510(k) summaries.
The service is operational, not promotional. Diri does not send marketing, advertising, or unsolicited commercial SMS through this channel.
Who can opt in
Only authenticated Diri users can opt in to SMS — surgeons, OR coordinators, and device representatives with active accounts. You must be at least 18 years old.
How to opt in
- In-app: sign in to Diri, open Settings, enter your mobile number, and toggle “Enable SMS notifications.” The toggle screen displays: “By enabling SMS, you agree to receive case- coordination messages from Diri. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
- Reply START: if you previously opted out, text START to the Diri number to re-subscribe.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by case activity on your account. Typical ranges:
- Active case day (case scheduled in the next 48 hours): 1–6 messages per case as the rep request opens, is accepted, the tray ships, arrives on-site, and the case closes.
- Quiet day: zero messages.
- Free-form Q&A: when you text a product question, you receive one reply from the AI assistant. No follow-up unsolicited messages.
Message content
Recipients can expect three categories of messages:
- Rep coordination notifications — new case- coverage or loaner-tray requests, accept/decline confirmations, reassignment notices.
- Tray status updates — when a rep marks a device on-site, en-route, or returned.
- AI product Q&A — when a surgeon texts a device question (e.g., sterilization cycle, MRI conditions, screw sizing), the AI assistant replies with a cited answer and a disclaimer that the response is AI-generated and not autonomous surgical advice.
Messages may include short URLs linking to the Diri dashboard (case details, rep request status). Messages never include phone numbers of other users, financial information, or marketing content.
Opt-out — STOP
Reply STOP to any Diri SMS at any time. You will receive a single confirmation: “Diri: You've opted out. You will not receive further messages. Reply START at any time to re- subscribe.” No further messages will be sent. The opt-out is honored at the carrier level (Twilio) and within Diri.
Help — HELP
Reply HELP to any Diri SMS at any time to receive support information: “Diri: Diri coordinates hand-surgery device requests between surgeons, OR coordinators, and reps. Support: support@diri.health. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”
Carriers and rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Diri does not control carrier delivery times; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported in the United States via Twilio A2P 10DLC infrastructure. International numbers may not be supported.
Privacy
Mobile numbers are used only to deliver the operational messages described above. Diri does not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with Twilio (our SMS infrastructure provider) to deliver requested messages, and never resold or transferred for marketing. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
AI disclaimer
Every AI-generated SMS reply ends with an explicit disclaimer (for example: “AI-generated; confirm with your rep” or the full “AI-generated. Consult your device representative and follow institutional protocols for all clinical decisions. This is not autonomous surgical advice. ”). AI replies cite manufacturer technique guides, IFUs, and FDA 510(k) summaries by name; they are not a substitute for clinical judgment or current manufacturer labeling.
